VERMONT INDEPENDENCE RESOLUTION

Be it resolved that the state of Vermont peacefully and democratically free itself from the United States of America and return to its natural status as an independent republic as it was between January 15, 1777 and March 4, 1791.

I would actually totally support something like this, mostly for the reason that the Boston.com story mentioned: I believe that Vermont is better than most in the nation.

I wouldn't mind the secession and would even vote in favor of it, but how would it affect things that it has right now, such as moderate population growth and immigration, the second-highest rated schools in the country (based on expenditures per student) and a stable economy?
