Are you referring to the gunfight scenes they're shooting downtown this weekend?

Yeah, I had misheard that they were shooting the scenes on Saturday and not today.

It was pretty weird hearing machine gun fire as we were heading away from Big O's to the library this afternoon. :) We were down at the fundraiser mentioned at the bottom of John Serba's article.

Here's one of my crappy Blackberry photos. I was amazed how quiet the big generator trailer providing power to the set was, but I guess it would need to be to not interfere with the film shooting.

Thought I'd share a couple of photos from Aman Park on Lake Michigan Drive. The trillium bloom will probably be happening sometime this week. They were just starting to peek out on Sunday, but there were plenty of other wildflowers already out. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fotoman311/sets/72157626446467493/with/5651755853/

I know some people find painted brick to be a sin, but man these buildings are looking nice.

Some brick buildings especially those built in the decades around the Civil War were built of softer brick and were always intended to be painted. The Old Naval Hospital here in DC is one such example. Besides, can anyone imagine the buildings in the Ledyard block if they weren't painted? Many preservationists take the stance: if it's painted, leave it painted (unless natural brick is extremely important to its historic character). If its not painted, DO NOT PAINT IT.

Anyway, I agree, these buildings are all looking fabulous. And so far I'm liking the new "punched-up" color scheme on Justice and Monroe.
