Took some Downtown Grand Rapids construction photos today.
The Saint Mary's Hospital wing is getting started nicely. The outdoor Farmers Market at the Downtown Market is getting ready to open next Saturday, May 4th. The Herkimer on Commerce is moving right along as are the new apartment building on Cherry at Division Ave.

Nice pics. That's actually not a wing of Saint Mary's. It's a whole new facility for Mary Free Bed.

What's that building being built next to Popeyes?  Did they tear down the theater or is that one more lot up the street.

It was an empty lot that Popeyes is building a new restaurant on. When it's done they will tear down the old building.

Wowzer. This is a blast from the past. Anyone else remember the old Milner Hotel that was torn down, where Grid70 sits today? I seem to remember some controversy (historical preservationists wanted to keep it?) but the top two floors or so had basically completely collapsed?

John E has a whole cache of old photos prior to some of downtown's biggest projects.
