Did I hear you right, GRDad? Is Calder Plaza being renovated or is it just the grounds around the Federal Building?

...In fact, the entire plaza South of the federal building is being redone, so this area will be closed during Festival. :(

I bet you totally wow'd them with that!

Heh heh. Made a "Field trip" (the owner is a buddy) and all the staff was in variations of the Dutch dance costumes on which they make a buck or two this season. Buddy saw me and said, that's not an authentic costume.

Other passers-by offered comment and praise for my get-up, and then I informed 'em of my co-tour-ee-ay (Good Will for the shirt, back of the closet for the dress).

Just happy it wasn't StemFest again.

There's an article about it today in the Press. Apparently the water-proof membrane between the plaza and the Federal Building's parking ramp has developed leaks and needs to be replaced. That means they need to replace the entire thing, which requires taking up all the landscaping South of the Federal Building and around the DiSuvero Swing, and replacing it.

c'mon, shouldn't there be a moratorium on rabbit-in-the-backyard photos, I mean its like every page of this Grand Rapids Photo of the Day thread is litterred with rabbits in people backyards from different angles and different times of day, we ALL know what they look like.

I totally agree! I for one am only posting squirrels from now on:

I was choosing between the Greek Souvlaki or the Bosnian Cevap.

I went with the Cevap...could not resist and was pleased.

Correct. It was awesome! Last year's souvlaki was very grissly, so much so that I remember it, but this year the meat was tender and perfectly seasoned.
