Apparently this photo by yours truly will appear in a presentation being given by Dick Devos, TODAY, in Ann Arbor. Pretty cool! I'll have to retract some of the things I posted about him on here. The presentation is about Grand Rapids "renaissance", Grand Action, public/private partnerships, yada yada.

The new flower beds are finished. Not bad.

I've NEVER noticed the river to be so clear before as it has been lately. Anyone else? It always seems to be churning brown, but lately it looks clear and blueish/green.

Apparently the AGP is restricting movement along the riverwalk. WTF???

With the J-Dub dedication and a big Society of Manufacturing Engineers show at the convention center this week, downtown was pretty bustling. Nice scene of RPC at lunchtime:

They've been limiting movement around AGP for a while now. I think I remember seeing those block/gates there a month ago.

The newly open JW Marriott Hotel gleaming on a beautiful day. There are only 37 of these high end hotels though out the world and GR managed to land one. Now that's a stroke of municipal good luck. Oh thank the Devoses and the Van Andels for doing the grunt work to make this happen.

The GRPD is no doubt a very good police force that does not hesitate in laying down the law on the bad guys. That's why back in my junior high school days my brother and his BMX and skate board buddies affectionately called the GRPD the "Grand Rapids Storm Troopers".

Nope, Route 50 goes straight down Lake Michigan Dr.

No highway for the campus connector.

It may have been the Rivertown bus coming back from its last run, taking the quicker way back to downtown. Mechanical problems? Shift change?

I have seen different busses on the freeway from time to time. I have always noticed that the sign says "GAR" so I am assuming that it is returning to the Garage for repair or shift change as mentioned above.

Thanks! It's just a Canon A610. Just the right size to stick in my pocket.
