Walked to Family Dollar with my camera and took a few shots on South Division near Wealthy.

Went out on a photo adventure today. This time I went South - West. Took some from Franklin and I-131 then went down Division to Hall for lunch and worked my way North from between I-131 and the Grand River finding some nice skyline views. I was super happy with the spot near Grandville and Wealthy. When I took the shots from the of the Butterworth Hospital I didn't realize that Aero Med was on the helipad. When I was crossing I-131 on Wealthy I saw the copter just above the hospital and got some decent shots of it.

I have 131 photos in the March 14, 2009 Photo Adventure set. Here is a sample of the pictures taken:

Dear Photogs,

Do any of you have a photo taken from Wealthy bridge facing downtown?

(It would capture an iron rail bridge across the river as well).

I'm sure there's one in here but I can't find it on the search engine.

It's my favorite view of downtown and I want to forward a flickr link to a friend.

Muchas Gracias!

Another member here asked me to show these photos to you guys. These are the upper floors of the Trade Center Building at Ionia and Louis, now gallery space for Open Concepts Gallery. Their historic use I believe was the old space for the Masonic Lodge.

Is that in the top three floors or the middle three floors? That's a pretty impressive space. I wonder if this is similar to what the inside of that building on S. Division that The Collective is trying to to turn into an office/workout space looks like?

There's a video of 111 S. Division here at Rapid Growth:

I'm pretty sure Open Concept Gallery is on the top floor (of the Trade Center Bldg).

Here's another photo essay. Let's see who can guess from where these photos came.

Great shots here. That's Ye olde Masonic Temple if I'm not mistaken. Or is it the church next door like the last two photos indicate (can't tell if they're supposed to show which building the other photos are from or just be roof shots)? I've always wanted to go in and look around both. They're some of my favorite buildings in GR. I used to live back on Oakley Pl, and on my way to church (in heartside) sometimes I'd just walk past them and stare for a second.

I once read a post about a great view from a men's room window in the Masonic Temple. Maybe that is it!

That is some amazing looking space. I'm surprised this isn't prime office space (I'd love to work in a space like that!).

  • 3 weeks later...

Spring is here! At least at GRCC. Flowers are blooming, trees are starting to grow berries. I've seen a few buds start to show around Ramblewood. Still not much floral activity elsewhere, though. GRCC really sticks out like a sore thumb right now. (In a good way! Well, good for GRCC..)

I'll be adding some assorted photos I've taken the past few months soon.

I don't think I've ever noticed that solarium on the backside of the Calkins building before. Nice pic!
