Thank you very much for the Louis Campau Promenade update photos!

~John

No problem. I have some updates of the Children's Hospital that I'll post later today as well.

BTW, here's what the LC Promenade looked like before. It's easy to forget what things used to look like. My only complaint (or observation I guess) is that some of those landscaping beds look pretty sparsely planted.^^^

What do they do with those mature trees? Do they just rip them out and kill them or do they replant them elsewhere? I'm assuming they just tear them out, which is kind of a waste.

It wouldn't be the first time. Remember how Fifth-Third plaza used to look?

Will the plants gorw bigger though? Maybe it just looks sparse right now (I have not been down there yet....just thinking that they might have planted them with the idea of mature growth in mind)?

Took the Rapid bus to Alpine and 4 Mile area, walked to Fifth Third Ball Park for the Gus Macker, then walked home via Riverside Park. First time I've been there and even ran into GVSUSean in front of the Bridgewater building. Just had to get a shot of myself after I got home, showing how much sun I got.

I uploaded 185 photos in the 24 May 2009 set:

I went over to Saint Mary's to see how they were coming along on the skywalk and got this cool skyline shot from the parking ramp. It covers from the Plaza Towers building to the Children's Hospital.

I thought this effect from the ramp was cool. The exterier of the ramp may not look cool but the views are awesome! lol

That shot is perfect. It looks like a real urban neighborhood in Chicago.

This is nice. Z's has switched from the deck they built to a more permanent patio setup.

Pretty quiet though, for a Festival weekend (Sunday morning about 11:00):

The flowers in this area are gorgeous, especially around the JW. In fact, the area from the blue bridge, across Campau, and onto this plaza are eons better than they used to be.

Thanks for the nice photos, Jeff.

The patio for Z's was part of the Campau remodel.

This city sure is getting a face lift. WOW!

It sure is fun living here in this day and age with digital cameras!!! :D

You can say that again. It's easy to get accustomed to the new look and not realize how different downtown is looking. Remember this old nasty dead end street, and the big parking lots along Campau?

I can't wait until the entire 100 block of S. Division is renovated (just a matter of time now) and I can pull this out:

I like to pull this puppy out about once a year too: the old Burger King site on Michigan St:
