Group to gaze into Rockingham Park's future

Rockingham Park's owners and their new partner have hired a high-powered team headed by Concord attorney Thomas Rath to find out whether the track can survive even if the state continues to ban expanded gambling.

"We have not been hired to lobby," Rath said yesterday. "We have been hired to conduct a full-scale, extensive feasibility study to take a look at the viability of Rockingham Park as a pari-mutuel racing institution under the current laws.
