this is still great news for MTA riders. however unexciting it might be it is a huge step in the direction of "serious" transit for Nashville.

The city has signs all around the entrances of the parking garage stating that it's closing. Great news.

MTA hub is now under construction. Remember this is not the 11 story version now.

This will also help Deaderick Street to return to the nice street it once was. It will also keep the homeless panhandlers away from the bus patrons.

There is no residential because at the time the block was not zoned residential along with the area where the Stahlman is and the Hotel Indigo inside the American Trust Building. Since they scaled back the design, it still has not been zooned residential.

Im not saying this would be the best option for the thermal site, but i wonder why developers didn't think to put the new central bus station next to the river so that it could be right next to the music city star... It would attract people to our river and an incentive for more people to use the music city star since the buses are right there to transport them around town? Either way i'm glad this is replacing a surface parking lot.

I think they are including the parking are underneath as well. They dug a 30 to 40 ft hole.

So 1485 sq. ft. of retail is what exactly? A small coffee shop and news stand, or is that large enough for a deli? I think they should have built alot more retail space than that.

^ I agree 100%. Much more retail space was needed here. I wish they had not done away with the apartments or condos on the top. So many people have been complaining about affordable housing and this would have been a great place to do that as well.
