Is Hunter finally for sale? We just left Optimist Hall and there were signs up on both corners of Belmont and North Davidson showing the land for sale.

Is that the junkyard parcel across from the Apartments under construction ?

Does anyone know what is going in next to Popbar?  The one on the corner. I saw them doing a lot of work in it the other day

Hopefully something better than the TERRIBLE bar that was there before.

That place had to have been a front for something.

It looks like a acai shop called Spoons is taking over.

Burried in a CBJ article on Southend apartments was news about what may be the last piece of the puzzle for N Tryon redevelopment:

Quote

On Monday, Charlotte City Council approved $12.8 million in infrastructure reimbursements to private developers for two separate road extension projects: Philemon Avenue in NoDa and Dave McKinney Avenue in University City.

The Philemon Avenue extension is viewed by neighborhood leaders and area developers as a critical infrastructure piece for that section of NoDa, and would be part of Grubb's project. A connection to North Davidson Street from Craighead Road was cut off after the N.C. Department of Transportation permanently closed the railroad crossing there last year. The Philemon extension would connect 36th Street and Craighead.

As of today a project has been created on WebPermit  for the old mill on 36th/N. Davidson behind the Blind Pig, "NoDa Mill"

A 7 floor apartment building with ground floor retail will built in the excess land beside the mill, with the hope of leveraging/funding mixed-income housing to be built in the rest of the mill. The older building fronting 36th is not salvageable and has major structural issues and will be torn down.

^^^ thats great about the new 7 story building on 36th St who is the developer?

Chadborn Mill looks great and their anchor office tenant's name is already on the building.    and the Amelie's new bakery site on 36th as well.  and the new Herrin Coal and Ice site and 36th St will look completely different and urban in a few years.   Plus the new apartments on Jordan across from Chadborn.    Drive bys today.

Same as Johnson Mill aka Lofts at NoDa

Here's a photo of part of the collapse in the building fronting 36th. I took this almost 2 years ago when touring the mill.

Tarwater is posting renderings of the Alliance project at 24th and Brevard....only 1,250 sq ft of retail, and I suspect it's a coffee shop like at their Broadstone Morehead project.

I'm more curious about the Johnston Mill project at 37th and Davidson that J-Man posted....such an opportunity.

That looks like it has little to no retail

And its a really good location for neighborhood retail (adjacent to a station and on a soon-to-be busy pedestrian route. This is a foolish choice.

Are you sure?  The renderings state 36th street on one of the elevations.
