The resort was bought by the Grand Traverse Bay band of Ottawa and Chippawa Indians a couple of years ago. They've started renovations on the rooms in the tower and are remodeling the Trilium Restaurant on the 16th (top) floor. I'm not sure if anyone knows this but the GTB band has a casino just down the road from the GT Resort, although at this time there are no plans to put a casino on the resort property or to put the property into a Federal trust, i.e. reservation status. Just in case anyone really cared. :D I live about 7 miles from the place and have been there about 9 times in 15 years. Love the golf there though :whistling: a bit pricey, but nice.

Yep that's the one. I thought that looked familiar, your "little picture underneath" your name. I like that one too.

Also, the Traverse City City Commision yesterday approved plans for a 8 story, 100 ft. tall building in an empty lot on W. Front St. downtown. The site has been vacant for about a year, it used to be the site of a Ford dealership that was moved into Garfield Township about 7 years ago. If it goes through it should be a nice addition to downtown, although around here projects like this have to jump through a million hoops before they even get started. I've seen plans for it, I just have to remember where that was so I can share with everyone.

yea..i read about that building on the tc record eagle website...its funny when u walk by that old dealership because its got thoose old advertisments in the windows...it will be nice to see something done with that site

and isnt there a 7 story bulding proposed to go in across the street(on the corner of pine and front i think it is)?

definitly post thoose plans if you can find the...id love to sse them :D

i cant wait till next time i go to TC...last time i was there i didnt get to explore a whole lot

last time i really explored literally every street within several blocks from downtown was 2 years ago when i went up there for a week and a half...it was great because my cousin used to live on wadsworth street like 1 block from downtown

I just moved to grand rapids from TC and it is by far the nicest place I have ever lived. It is not easily accessable from an major highways which is the only thing keeping it from growing outragously. It is a secret that I hope is well kept. Housing it outrageos there and the job market doesnt really support many college grads.

There's a very narrow rectangle of land behind the building in dtown's avatar and in front of the parking structure. Are there any plans for this. I know a new building has gone up in that corner that is non existent in the aerial photo, so now all that's left is this small plot of land. I was wondering what might go up on that.

EDIT: heh, guess I didn't have to say all of that. I have a picture:

i remember reading somewhere that there was supposed to be several phases to that development, Radio Center which is what thoose first 2 buildings are(phases 1 and 2)

but i dont know what they could put there because its such a small space surrounded by the parking deck and the 2 radio center buildings

The parking deck behind those two buildings was also part of radio center. Also, last night the TC city commision approved the W. Front St. proposal, i.e. a parking deck and the 8 story building, which I can not find the pictures of. They did show it on our local news last night, it looks like it will a nice addition.

Ahh lovely 37 degree day today. Almost sunny too, so what the heck, went downtown, took my dog for a walk and took some pictures.

Radio Centre, the Park Place and the Bank One building from the riverwalk.

Can never remember the name of this place. I remember when they built it five or six years ago. Quite a bit of controversy over this one.

Bank One from the top of the parking deck, my dog loved it up there, no cars, I just let his lease out and he had a blast, didn't like the elevator though.

Looking west from the deck.

Took some more but my wireless connection is being a POS  today, try to get those up sometime.
