Sure, we have a couple different agencies up here with offices. An FBI office with like 2 people in it, Customs and Border Protection, Immagration and Customs Enforcement and Transportation Security Administration. I am currently begining a Civil Suit with my Agency and also starting a internal investigation with my Inspector General, so yeah, I would rather not talk about it right now. Sorry. :D

Anyhow, I did get to go downtown today for a little walk and took a few shots. Enjoy.

hmm, what do you think about this?

http://www.record-eagle.com/2006/apr/21alcohol.htm

i suppose its not a bad thing, it could bring more people downtown, and on the streets. i dont think there will be any problems with drunk people either, considering that, at least everytime im there, there are many cops out and about.

Actually the nightlife is pretty good for our little town. I think this will only make it better. We don't have any big venues for concerts, but a place called Streeters tries to do it anyway. Usually it's bands that were big a couple of years ago, but are pretty much irrelevent now. But even in the middle of winter the bars downtown can get pretty packed on Wednesday and the weekend.

yeah, its good for a town of that size. last time i was up there me and my cousin were out until like 1 30 walking around and stuff, and there were still quite a few people out, and all the bars we passed by were still jumpin with music. alot of less popular bands(some of which are still good) come to TC too.

The two casinos (Turtle Creek in Williamsburg and Leelanau Sands near Suttons Bay) also put on some pretty good shows. And also there is always Interlochen Arts Academy, but they only put on shows during the summer.

As you can see it is an outdoor venue, even though it is covered.

I am pretty sure that this is Corson Auditorium and the above two are Kresge.

BTW these are not my pictures.

Also in case you may have wondered, some notable acts coming to Interlochen this year are Willie Nelson, um ABBA :yahoo: (I'm kidding, but they will be here), Cheap Trick (again, yesssss!), Lee Ann Womack, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, BB King and the Beach Boys. Just in case you wondered.

Yeah, the lineup is usually more like classical acts or jazz, things like that. But every year they throw in a few known acts. I saw Ray Charles there back in 1998 or somewhere around there. Only problem with that place is that people are kind of stuck up and a little boring so at the end of a song people will clap, but that is about it. I remember sitting waiting for Ray to come out and listening to people talk around me about the show that was there the week before and they were all pissed off because there were a bunch of teenagers there yelling and trying to dance. It's kind of like the 50's around here sometimes.

i remember reading a while ago about some master plan that MSU made, and it included a bayside ampitheater, among other things, has anything happened with this yet?

is the stadium where the beach bums play ever going to have concerts?

also, i looked at streeters website, and they have some good bands coming there, like Taproot and Darryl Worley

well, when my cousin moved up there a few years ago she invited me to come check out her new house(which was sweet beacause it was 2 blocks from the beach and 3 blocks from downtown) and i liked it so much that every year since then ive been going up there every summer around the 4th of July to visit her, lol

Whoa, slow down man I can't keep up.

But anyway, nothing has really happened with the MSU and UM plans yet (it was some sort of competition). And about the stadium, I was just thinking about the same thing yesterday. Even something like High School Playoff games or something. It would be a waste, I think, to build a stadium and use it for 42 minor league baseball games a year. (Not that I'm not looking forward to that)

Also, although not in your post I quoted, I wish I could be here in TC for the forth. But my Brother-in-Law and his fiance decided to get married, on the forth, who the hell does crap like this.

Afternoon all. Was downtown TC again today and though I would put up some more shots from some different places anyway.

This first one is a shot of Riverview Terrace from behind a bridge over the Boardman River on Front St.

riverviewterrace.jpg

This is a bunch of condo's that are part of the Rivers Edge Development. They were just completed this past winter. Don't know any price ranges or anything. They just look like condos.

Dtowns favorite TC building taken from the Open Space.

openspace.jpg

This is the Governmental Center which houses City/County Department on the first floor and second floors(second and third in this pic, the bottom is actually a cafeteria and is not this visible from the front) and the top houses probate and drug courts.

The back of the Park Place and some more Gov. Cntr.

My favorite spot downtown with the Park Place, Bank One and some other's from the breakwall at Clinch Park Marina.

Again from the breakwall looking towards 5/3 bank and the Hannah, Lay and Co. Building.

marina3.jpg

Help me out Dtown, why can't I remember the name of this place. BTW this breakwall was really moving today with the wind. I hate water.

I've been meaning to take this shot forever. I see it everytime I drive over this bridge. It's looking down the Boardman towand a bend in it looking at what used to be the Straub Brothers and Amiotte Candy Factory. Built in1905, the candy factory operated there until 1929 when the Great Depression took hold. It was also the home of Fochtman Motor Company from 1950 to 1979. After that it was mostly vacant until the mid 90's when Mackinac Brewing Company bought the place. It is still in operation and does make really good mirco-brew. :alc:

Downtown from Bryant Park.

Don't know the name of this place and had no idea the back looked like this. The front of the place is pretty dull and boring looking. I don't have shots of it from the front. I'll try to get some.

boardman2.jpg

Same building, different angle. I took these on the bank of Boardman River.
