This is in Duluth, MN (hey, it's me, where else?), specifically the West Duluth neighborhood.

In these pictures we have perfectly pedestrian-friendly streetscapes, with old, personable buildings housing various locally-owned, real-life shops and venues: a mid-scale Chinese restaurant, a caf

"urban renewal" ^ Back in the day, when it was thought that huge autodependent shopping plazas were cool, this type of thing happened in a lot of places that were considered rundown at the time. Now we look back and are appalled of course.

A big box store looks very out of place there.
