Columbus hotel boom

The south Columbus Fairfield Inn is no more instead developers contracted with Candlewood suites and the brand nee 4 story Victory drive hotel is near completion. The steakhouse that was also in question for that site did not come through. A little further East on Victory drive construction crews on begining work on the 5th floor of a new Holiday Inn Express on the old site of Dennys near Ticknor drive. Rumors are also circulating that there are plans for at least 4 more new hotels to be built in the city of Columbus.

A bit off topic I think the econolodge on Veterans parkway should add a couple more floors to there. Establishment after all they completely lost their roof in the April 19th tornado so the time is right to build upward.

Does anyone know what the status is on the new Cambria suites to be built near the North Columb us Wynndham? I noticed the sign is still up and has been there for what's approaching a year but no signs of change

Columbus is about to become home to another hotel from the Hilton family. Home 2 Suites will break ground on a new four story hotel in the Bradley Park Drive area next to Rivertown Ford this Thursday. This will be the first Home 2 suites in the state of Georgia and has a price tag of $6.3 million it should open by next September.
