I just got back into town from Atlanta. I was there all week for the Greenbuild Conference. I've driven through Atlanta more times then I can count but I never had a chance to spend any amount of time downtown. The skyline is beautiful at night and the new Georgia Aquarium by Calatrava is very cool. I found the downtown to be quite walkable and there were always people out walking whatever time I went out. I only got hit up by one homeless guy all week, which is quite different then when I had been there before. All in all I enjoyed by stay quite a bit.

Great restaurants/bakeries, cold but SUNNY winters, heated sidewalks, walkable everything, plenty of college students in sight, beautiful and historic architecture, fierce snow-removal, sophisticated night-life.

Have to agree with you Zen...Montreal is a wonderful city. We honeymooned in Montreal and Quebec City. Just visited Montreal again in July for our anniversary.

Also, if we're including small cities we absolutely love Saugatuck and Pentwater.
