I lost power for about an hour today too. Then as i was driving down the east beltline towards 28th, in front of cornerstone. They are changing the entrance or whatever.... Well, there are a bunch of massive black drainage pipes for underground or something. All of them are just sitting there. One of them blew free and rolled across the beltline, smashed an orange construction barrel, and stopped in the median. The car 2 in front of me slammed on its brakes to avoid hitting it, crazy...

I was involved in an auto accident at the corner of Oakleigh and Lake Michigan Dr. when I stopped at the light that was out (treating it like a 4 way stop) and the car coming from Oakleigh totally ignored the non-existant light and spun me out of control. Funny how 3 of my 4 car accidents have happened in Grand Rapids, and none of them happened when I lived there for a year of college.

Snoogit, in this town, you might as well post the question on a daily basis:

"who DIDN'T lose power today?"

zenstyle, demander of buried power lines like Montreal has.

 yes, but last night was particularly special due to the high force winds

(I knew I shouldn't have had that mexican food last night)

Bight and cheerful in Holland, where we not only generate our own power, but maintain our transmission and distribution system as well. Quite an idea!

Although it does leave some of our trees looking like large slingshots.

We have power here in Allendale, but the school where I teacher-assist, in Wyoming, is closed today due to the power outage, so that leaves me sitting around all morning. kinda nice in a way, but it throws my lesson plans off schedule.

I live in Wyoming and we lost power last night at 2:50am and it was still not on when I left at 7am. Hope it's on before I get home today or it will be cold as the snow has started to fly.......
