Shreveport/Bossier City Development

I can hear the crickets chirping in here and it's sad. This was once a pretty happening forum. Oh well. Just thought I'd pop in and mention that I've been following the Amazon development in Shreveport. construction of the huge warehouse building is well underway and this will be a big development for Shreveport. The city REALLY needs something like this. And since Shreveport really doesn't have "suburbs" per se,  it's being built inside the city, not far from downtown. That's a great thing for the city and, since Shreveport-Bossier will always be my hometown even though I've moved away, I'm glad to see it. And maybe it will finally get some of the employers in Shreveport-Bossier paying better wages.

Great job, Shreveport, in landing this large warehouse project!

Shreveport gets $100 million control center project from Ohio electricity giant

https://www.theadvocate.com/article_c695301e-7a1a-11ec-9629-b3668cf10511.html

An Ohio-based electric utility giant will spend $100 million to build a control center in Shreveport aimed at strengthening its grid across the Gulf Coast and the United States, Louisiana Economic Development announced Thursday.

American Electric Power, based in Columbus, Ohio, will develop a 77,000-square-foot transmission control center on 30 acres within the 313-acre Resilient Technology Park, according to an LED news release. Resilient Technology Park is located near Interstate 20 and Greenwood Road in Shreveport.

The Shreveport Transmission Control Center project will create 20 direct new jobs with averages salaries of $115,000, LED said. It also will help create 63 indirect jobs and retain 20 existing jobs.

I'm hearing through the grapevine that the city of Shreveport, which was so proud of its large new convention center a few years back when it was built, is now letting it go to crap. The event planner sounds like she's in the wrong profession as well, talking down to people who are wanting to have their events at the facility. Once again, something else the city of Shreveport has touched has turned from gold to poop. Where's the poop emoji when you need it!?

A list of venues the city of Shreveport has ruined in recent years:

Fair Grounds Field

Shreveport Convention Center

Anyone else have one for the list? I don't live there anymore so I don't know about Indy Stadium or the Muni.

Edit: Here's a Google  Maps shot showing the building. I was shocked to see how disgusting it's looking.
