New SAS Tower in Cary

In yesterday's news & observer, they discussed a planned conference center and tower.

They didnt really go into much detail over either project. From my understanding, no "tower" in Cary can exceed something like 6 floors, so I imagine they are using that term loosely. That is unless SAS can get around the restrictions given their clout.

Has anybody heard anything in addition to what this article says?

They probably should have just called it an office building. I doubt it would go any higher than 6 stories. Cary didn't cut SAS any slack on their hotel-thats why its on the campus now rather than in that shopping center area.

Cary approved a 10+ story 150' tall structure for Regency Park with only a 30 foot setback from Tryon Rd. So this new thing could definitely exceed 6 stories. Cary has more moments nowadays when it "thinks big", thankfully.

do you know where in regency park is that 10 story bldg supposed to go?? who is the anchor tenant?

^ At Tryon Rd and Regency Pkwy (thus the aforementioned 30 foot setback from Tryon) in that big empty lot... I do not know any tenant details about it, but a rendering was released about a year ago showing a structure similar to the existing one at that intersection.

Back in August of this year, Capital Associates revived the proposal and there was an N&O article about it.
