Texas Universities

I recently heard that tennesseans received in-state tuition in Texas Universities because of the aid we brought to the texans in the early times of its history (the alamo, War with Mexico pre-U.S. intervention). If this is true could someone give me a source? Thanks a ton!

I actually remember hearing this when I was a kid, maybe even in Texas History. I doubt it still applies today if it was actually ever even on the books.

I seriously doubt it. If you were going to take that view then someone could always make excuses to why their state should get favors.
