The Medical District is moving along nicely. LeBoneur is getting a new 12 story tower, and the biotech park will bring in 5,000 bioscience jobs, 4,000 supporting non-bioscience jobs, and a $2 billion annual economic impact.

Heres a rendering of the biopark (replacing the old Baptist hospital)...

How long until St. Jude is finished?

Saw in the MBJ that the empty, 19-story eyesore in Med Center is now being eyed for redevelopment by the Memphis Bioworks Foundation, despite their original plans to tear it down. I don't have access to the print edition so I couldn't read the whole story..does anyone have a copy with the full article?

Well thats nice. I always like it when older buildings are kept, although it looks like they made it able to withstand a nuclear blast with that concrete facade. But I guess I would have too back when the cold war was going on.

Hopefully they can clean it up and make it look "real nice". :shades:
