Pleasant Ridge Town Center

Blaze and Pie Five are similar.  Pieology, MOD Pizza, etc.  They are all the same.  Basically trying to be the Chipotle of pizza.  It's sort of scary how many brands there are now.  Blaze is the biggest brand right now while Pie Five is the closest to Little Rock since it's based out of Dallas.

Word is out that Panera will be leaving Pleasant Ridge when their lease is up some time in the next two years.

Strange...I realize Panera has opened numerous new locations around town, but this one always seems busy (and I believe it was the first one)...visibility is admittedly not good though.

Sales at this location fell about 22% after the location on Kanis opened.  The Kanis location does 47% more business because of the drive-thru.  Panera asked the Landlord at Pleasant Ridge to help them install a drive-thru there.  When he didn't oblige, they opted out of any contract extensions and are looking for a site somewhere nearby for a standalone building with a drive-thru.

They might be able to convert the old Simmons Bank branch in front of the Highway 10 Kroger, if need of a nearby location and a drive-thru is the issue — though the existing building would be a likely teardown and rebuild.

Ate at the Blaze Pizza in Conway last night and it was pretty dang tasty. The pizzas are decent size for one person.  There are several choices or you can build your own which has no limit on how many toppings you choose. Basic cheese was $6 and the 'specialty' pizzas were $7.95. We will definitely go back.

I have eaten at the Blaze in Conway as well.  It was very good.  We fed the whole family for about $30.  Looking forward to the one at Pleasant Ridge opening.

Learning Express, a educational focused toy store (very cool based upon my one visit) has closed.  Unfortunate.  There are quite a few of these stores in the southeast.  It seems like Pleasant Ridge would be an ideal location for something like this, but I'm not sure how many people knew about it.

It's been a bit since the last entry from PRTC popped up in the plumbing permits, but something seems to be in the works for suite #206, where Coming Home has done business for several years. A quick check on Facebook shows they're in their final days of a business liquidation sale.

Spokes, which recently closed their downtown location that was connected to Orbea's headquarters, announced that they are headed to Pleasant Ridge. That could be the suite, but not sure.

So this new Spokes location is replacing their downtown location, and their main location in Stifft Station (Hillcrest) will remain?

From their FB post:

SPOKES ANNOUNCES OPENING OF NEW WEST LITTLE ROCK LOCATION -
Saturday, July 30th, was the final day for the Spokes Little Rock downtown location. "With Orbea's decision to relocate the company's headquarters to North Little Rock in early August, we had no option but to close this location", says Mat Seelinger, managing partner of Spokes Enterprises. "We are very proud of being part of the revitalization of Little Rock's Main Street and we wish Orbea the best in their relocation to North Little Rock."
Plans are currently underway for both a significant makeover of the iconic Spokes Kavanaugh location and the addition of new store in West Little Rock. Spokes Kavanaugh will see exciting changes in the coming months including the addition of Liv, the world’s first pure female cycling brand, which will be showcased in the Liv Experience Center featuring Giant’s Liv branded bicycles, clothing and accessories. The opening of the Liv Experience Center is planned for August 15th.
Additionally, Spokes Enterprises is very proud to announce the opening of Giant Bicycles of Little Rock scheduled for mid October of this year. Located in West Little Rock's Pleasant Ridge Shopping Center, Giant Bicycles of Little Rock will feature the Giant, Liv and Momentum brands and include a state of the art service department to service all brands and cyclists in that section of town. "Giant Bicycles of Little Rock will be owned and operated by Spokes Enterprises and will bring Spokes' signature hospitality and customer service to the west side of town," says Seelinger.
Spokes is a fullservice bicycle retail and service company offering a wide range of cycling products including the leading brands Giant, Cannondale, Cervelo, Felt and Electra. The Hillcrest store which opened in 2010 also offers repair, fitting and training services.

Today's Restaurant Transitions in the ArkDemGaz states:

One of our eagle-eyed observers spotted, and photographed, a sign for Mr. Hui's Restaurant in the Pleasant Ridge Town Center, 11525 Cantrell Road, Little Rock. We're told it'll be a Chinese restaurant and that it is still under construction; no information yet on a target opening date. Those who run the shopping center say its owners are the family that operates Mr. Chen's in Little Rock and Mr. Cheng's in North Little Rock, and also a Mr. Hui's in Norman, Okla. An online check shows there are at least three other restaurants out there called Mr. Hui's, including two in Lincoln, Neb., and one in Florence, Ala.

Anybody been to a Mr. Hui's?  I've never even been to the Mr. Chen's or Mr. Cheng's.  One is in NLR and the other is at the Village Shopping Center, I think.
