Not sure if it would be considered a "full service grocery store", like the press claims. It is more like a higher end specialty market. But it is a decent addition to downtown, and adds another amenity to the growing list of incentives for people to move downtown.

Where is the best place to park to run into this store for a few items?

Unfortunately, that is a small problem. I would say the best place to park is the Monroe Center Ramp located on the corner of Louis and Ionia, about a block away. It's free for the first hour, but is a short walk to the store. Usually there are spaces open on the ground level during the day, so you don't have to trudge up the stairs too often.

Free parking for the first 60 minutes in the Monroe Center Ramp 1 block west of there. Pedestrian entrance will put you right on Monroe Center, next to the Fox Jewelers Building.

you beat me to it, prankster :D
