MIT was first but University of Pittsburgh outpaced UMinnesota, UColorado and Cornell! In fact Pittsburgh was the BEST school in terms of dollar for dollar tech start ups over the past year. This is good news for the relatively young effort at the University--having only formed its "sponsored research" program a decade ago!

Wasn't it just last month that an attorney in California told me on Wikipedia that Pittsburgh was a "very depressed area" . . . Stanford, Cal, USC spend MORE then Pittsburgh and get LESS for it, what would be the category below "very depressed"? California would need to know ;).
