Denso to Expand Manufacturing in Maryville

Denso Manufacturing, a world renown auto parts manufacturing company has announced plans for a major expansion of their Maryville, TN plant. Plans are to invest $185 Million and up to 500 new jobs will result by 2007. This is outstanding news for East Tennessee, and the Knoxville area. Thats alot of high paying jobs and tremendous news for Maryville. Tennessee just racking up more and more auto-related manufacturing, which is awesome IMO! I simply love reading about all this investment coming into our grand state.

Denso was I believe one of the first big Japanese firms to come to East Tennessee, no? I think I remember reading that somewhere.

Denso is a main parts supplier for Toyota. My buddy works up there as an engineer and clears the high 40's a year. It

Denso also has a factory down the road in Athens. Will this affect the Athens facility in any way?

That would be great for Athens if it does. I have heard lots of good things about Athens and McMinn County.
