MSN Live tops Google Earth

Forgive me if this has been posted already. MSN Live beta, which replaces MSN Virtual Earth, has a "Bird's Eye View" that zooms in quite a bit further and with more clarity than Google Earth.

I heart Windows Live Local. They NEED to get Birds Eye View for Charlotte though... I hope they're working on that.

Great product. I can't believe they're allowed to have close up aerials of restricted military installations like that.

I don't see what is so great about this other than some good closeups of the selected cities. I find it to be confusing and difficult to navigate, even in a city that I am familiar with. I'll stick with Google Earth any day

Really?? Windows Live Local lets you zoom in closer in a lot of cities. I find it better than Google Earth.

I've never used either, not MSN Live beta nor MSN Virtual Earth, but I liked Google Earth.

Very nice aerial views....just wish they had more cities available. Google Earth is fun, but rather limited if you don't buy the commercial version.

Right, but of what, 12 cities or so? And I find that while the views are great, its impossible to navigate with their setup. They will never have the coverage that Google will have.

Yeah the setup of live local is weak, I never know where the hell I am and I'm a geography wiz. I have to pan around in the aerial photo or map view to know where I am and then switch to bird's eye. I like it a lot though. I'm amazed by their selection of cities: big important ones like DC, Boston, New York, San Francisco, and then, Providence???

well they've got MUCH better resolution of cities such as Greensboro than Google has.

MSN Virtual Earth has significantly improved the way you can navigate around with its bird's eye view. Try it!

I think even without the birds eye view you still get a closer look than in google earth.

for some reason im not seeing any thing on local.live.com except for 2 text fields that say what & where. When you type in a destination, it takes you to a page that shows a map and web links. maybe its because im on a mac here at work.

I got the same an I'm on PC. Maybe it's because I use Opera. MSN's always been prejudiced against Opera users. Surprising, because one would think it'd be more concerned with Mozilla/Netscape now.
