This Website, http://terraserver.microsoft.com/ , has before and after satellite photos of some of the US, including most metro areas. Find your area you want to look at, click urban areas for a somewhat new (2002-2004) satellite view of your area depending on what it is, and click aerial view to see what the same area looked like 10-17 years earlier. It's amazing how much growth there has been in some areas of the country like atlanta or northern Va!

My area (jax) was from 94', and Orlando's from 99', and both areas are growing soooo fast that I know they look different today in some parts of town, but I don' think there is anything more recent for them.
