From memory, I remember a stink about a new license plate in the late 80's. I believe they painted the wrong type of bird, rather than a Carolina Wren. It was either that or the wrong flower, rather than a Carolina Jessamine.

Yeah, I remember that too. It was because they didnt' put a Carolina Wren on there, it was some other bird that looked similar. You could buy stickers with the correct bird to put over it too.
