Here is a rendering of the new hospital being built in Phenix City. The building will be 4 stories and 110,000 sq. ft. There is also a medical park that is being constructed around the hospital. The hospital will employ 400 people. Another tower is being considered adjacent to the hospital for future expansion.

How many beds will there be? Is there any sort of article that is associated with this? What is(are) the other main hospital(s) in Columbus, and how do they stand in comparison to this one?

Will be 70 beds (with 16 acres for future additions)

Columbus Regional (public Medical Center) -- 416 beds (with new freestanding

Amos Cancer Center and Assisted Living

Complex)

St Francis (Catholic private) -- 292 beds (with announced plans of future development of medical

complex/assisted living center

in northern suburbs [ie, near Harris County] off interstate)

Doctors Hospital (private) _- 228 beds

Hughston Clinic (private Orthopedics) -- 100 beds

Martin Army (Ft Benning) -- 250 beds

Area probably significantly underbedded at present. Especially compared to Augusta with its

MCof Ga facilities. However, would expect that BRAC announcement and future

growth prospects to spur additions/new construction especially of Martin Army

Isn't Hughston Orthopedic Hospital trying to build something new? I had read somewhere they were, but they were having trouble getting it approved by the state. Have you heard anything gah?
