Yes, it is Purdue. I would say that to call the residential development in Lafayette as being part of downtown Lafayette would be pushing it. Most of the development is up the hill and across the river around the Purude campus and technically not in downtown.

While downtown Lafayette is nice, it is not much different than any other similar city. Residential development is clearly not evident in the core only near campus, on the West side of the river, and in the older Heritage Hill like district on the Eastern bluff. I would compare it to a Bay City in terms of size and real downtown residential development.
