Out of these five (Chicago, NYC, Sydney, Tokyo and Shanhai) I'd choose either Chicago or NYC. NYC is just amazing and very dense. But Chicago has one tower (SEARS) that really stands out, kind of like how the WTC just to stand out in the crowd of NYC skyscrapers.

Here's how I would vote. Dubai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New York City, and Chicago. I like what Shanghai and Hong Kong have done, but I think I just like the style of architecture Dubai is using a bit more.

NYC would be number 1 for me. Very urban, and sheer size: it has the more tall buildings than any other city on earth if, I am not mistaken
