JUST to be fair, the credit markets are entirely screwed up, and projects are much more difficult to predictably move forward than they were a year ago (thank you Fannie and Freddie). Its a very tough time right now.

But the sentiment is very much understood...

The point is, with apologies, to prevent us from becoming like a Hartford or New Haven, with downtowns filled with large, gaping holes in the streetscape where buildings were once proposed, never happened, parking lots get put in, people make money from the parking, and then interest in those lots/properties are sold to parking concerns. 30 years later you have permanent parking that no one can dislodge and that are making their owners enough money that they don't care to sell.
