Federal Hill residents nervous about height, style

Though hundreds of Federal Hill residents are alarmed about a plan to build modern-looking condominiums in the midst of the neighborhood's historic main street, there might not be much they can do about it.

Baltimore housing charms D.C. workers

BALTIMORE - D.C. workers are leaving hefty mortgages for affordable Baltimore housing, mainly because of the MARC.

Maryland Transit Authority officials estimate 85 to 90 percent of MARC riders who board at Penn and Camden stations depart in D.C.

For $198,000, Aaron Weitzman, a researcher for a Washington company, bought, stripped and rebuilt a 120-year-old town house in Federal Hill.

Centerpoint development hailed as latest piece of west side revitalization

After several years and $1 billion in completed projects, one of the biggest pieces of downtown Baltimore's west side revitalization is complete.

Construction on Centerpoint, the $85 million mixed-use development considered the largest residential and retail complex included in the west side refurbishment, is done, officials said Wednesday.

Kettler plans mixed-use project in Leesburg

A joint venture between Kettler and Cypress Equities announced plans Thursday to develop The Village at Leesburg.

Cypress Equities, an affiliate of Staubach Retail, will develop the 464,000-square-feet retail part of the Village Center, which would include a grocer Wegmans and upscale restaurants. The center also will include 200,000 square feet of office space.

$23M deal for Inner Harbor's Verizon building closes

A Boston-based real estate firm has completed its purchase of the Verizon Building in downtown Baltimore and expects to undertake a year-long renovation to fill out the building's occupancy rate and create additional retail space on the ground floor, officials involved in the deal said.
