The biggest impact would be the Charlotte metro area residents from NC coming into Fort Mill/Lake Wylie to purchase lottery tickets and fireworks. Otherwise, i dont think it will be a big impact on SC lottery revenues.

Currently, Charlotte is the single largest market for our lottery. So yes, NC's lottery will definitely have an impact on our's, but we knew it was coming. At least we made the money while we had the chance. We can always count on North Carolinians to cross the border during New Year's and the Fourth of July though.

It will impact us, but it won't kill us. Just like it did Georgia when SC got the lottery. Lets keep in mind that all of these places at one time didn't have lottery at all, so either way it is just extra money for the government.

I heard that somehow SC has the potential for a higher payout. I don't understand why that is, exactly, but if that is true, it could help mitigate some of the damaging effects of the NC lottery.
