the HBJ print edition had all the numbers for the main airlines and routes a few weeks ago.  I found it..

almost used it to start a fire :)

Our busiest airlines Aug 2012-July 2013

Southwest       27.7%

Delta         15.38%
US Air     10.2%

Jet Blue      10.2%

American      6.9%

no numbers for United.  but there is a note that says all other airlines account for 29.6%  of traffic

then it lists our top destination airpoorts

ATL

BWI

CLT

MCO

ORD

DTW

DFW

That list missed quite a few....

Also, it seems that many large airports are gaining more carriers now. Maybe once this expansion into our larger hubs is finished the effect will trickle into our countries medium airports....i.e. BDL!

Seattle - Emirates

Miami - Qatar Airways, Jetairfly

Dallas - Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad

Las Vegas - Edelweiss Air

Houston - Turkish Airlines, Air China, Qatar Airways, Emirates

There are more....these are just a few.

Those number are kinda depressing....

2005 numbers

Chicago O'Hare   397,000

Atlanta Int'l           338,000

Orlando Int'l         284,000

Baltimore             240,000

Philadelphia         216,000

Not really, if you realize BDL is finally out of the hands of the CDOT. That should make a huge difference. That should give us all hope.

there is no denying the loss of traffic from 2005

there should be a decent jump however back closer to those numbers.

those were from mid summer I think and in the late fall we added a few new flights.   like LA, and some florida flights.

those new flights should add a decent uptick for early 2014

Jet Blue is adding two flights per day from BDL to Washington DC

http://www.courant.com/business/hc-jet-blue-bradley-0307-20140306,0,5366975.story

if you look at the Jet Blue route map, Hartford is looking more and more like some kind of mini-hub

With the additions, JetBlue will have nine daily departures from Bradley to seven locations

Washington DC

Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood,

Fort Myers,

Orlando,

Tampa,

West Palm Beach

San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I am excited to see a non Florida location. and a non warm weather location.

It would awesome of BDL could add some more westerly destinations.

http://www.hartfordbusiness.com/article/20140314/NEWS01/140319943

The overall count of passengers getting on and off planes at Bradley was 5,421,875 in 2013, compared to 5,381,860 in 2012.

40,000 people

A good sign I suppose.

1% aint much but it seems the last few months have been very good and continue to look that way.  especially with the new DC flight and the Cleveland flight

Counts increased

1 percent in September

4 percent in October

3 percent in November

20 percent in December

9 percent in January

That could easily be one of the worst terminals at any major airport in the US. Look at that men's room..! I mentioned before that I picked up an out of town associate from the airport and as we drove by the abandoned terminal, he commented on how it looked like the Soviet Union.

Nice pickup

Its a dinky plane, but service to Houston is important for an airport like BDL.

and and all flights west of the mississippi should be celebrated as they give us a much better shop of getting and supporting a trans atlantic flight.

Quick question

How is it that Providence is close to snagging not one but TWO international flights to europe, but Hartford doesn't seem to even have it in their cards....

The addition of Houston is a great link, but how come the ball is rolling so well for Providence and not for us?

Well, PVD markets itself as a 2nd Boston area airport. I'd guess that is the major factor that would put them in better position than BDL.
