Photo of the Day?? Photo of the Month :P

Shreveport CBD taken from the 20th floor of the Horseshoe Casino/Hotel by my brother last week

* Pic taken thru gold-plated windows; Shreveport is not smoggy as it appears

Yeah we generally have clear air here, so I hate the haze those windows add, BUT I love that view. :)

Thanks for representing for us, Richy, since I haven't been very good at doing it in a long time.

Glad I could do that Brian  Shreveport has a nice skyline! I have always liked the density in their CBD!

Transformation begining to take place on the south end of Fourth Street in Baton Rouge; with II City Plaza(left) nearly complete; new Courthouse rising up straight ahead

Oh man that looks bad-ass with the two new buildings going there. Looks like before long downtown BR will have more density itself.

I just got back in from downtown. Well, downtown Bossier anyway. We went down to the Horseshoe and to the Boardwalk to watch the awesome fireworks show they shoot off down there every year. My feet hurt. We had to get down there 3-4 hours early.

Next Saturday... heading to the Dallas Christmas Parade in downtown Dallas, and then Medieval Times for dinner! :) Can't wait. We're going over there with our friends from Texarkana who went with us tonight for the fireworks.

Thanks Brian. BR's malnutritioned skyline could use some more density. The new state buildings completed from 02' to 06' on the northern edge of downtown was a nice start; now this is needed for the southern-end. Sometimes all it takes is 12-story buildings to give a bigger city feel; esp. when all that was there before was just surface parking lots.

With the nationwide economic crisis; I'm just glad to get these two buildings completed. Eventhough both buildings are 12-stories; the new Courthouse being a civic building will be taller at 16 feet per floor(what I heard) and actually be about 200'feet tall (flag pole?) Are most mormal office buildings about 12 feet per floor??

>>You should visit the Armchair Developer thread in the BR forum(2nd page now) started by boy-wonder Dan; I am about to add to it soon. Please feel free to give your ideas; I have seen you talk( a little of your work) of a 70-story tower! :o in other threads. I wish BR could build a "new landmark tower" in the middle of the CBD; possibly mixed-use; at least 30-stories...400+feet. Maybe like RSA(35-floors) in Mobile w/o the unproportional spire.

That's cool Brian; you have posted some fantastic fireworks photo's in the past! Looks like you stay fairly busy. Big crowd in Bossier with yall getting there early. Wish I could visit Dallas post-Internet  ; I was behind the times with no Internet til I met my wife. Now there are plenty of places I would have made sure to visit...see more of the Uptown Dallas area; West Village/Turtle Creek; Addison and the new Victory Park that seems to be struggling a bit. I was impressed with Los Colinas in Irving.

UP Dallas could probably use some of your photo's; for some reason the Houston forums are dead; I made a quick visit this past Summer; and post a pic occasionally; but kinda figured what's the use.

Thanks Brian! It's amazing what just two 12-story buildings can do. It will definetly help bulk-up BR's malnutritioned skyline. The new Courthouse being a civic bldg. w/ higher floors make it maybe at least a couple floors taller than II City Plaza.

Nice pics yall...thanks for sharing

Though not the tallest buildings around; it's still impressive to see what two new 12-story buildings can do for the cityscape in BR's southern CBD! :shades:

The new II City Plaza & new Courthouse behind Repentance Fountains; between the Old State Capitol(left) and Governmental Bldg(right); before there wasn't that much..good to see the infil! Shaw Center for the Arts(far left) has been a catalyst in downtown BR's renaissance!

First, this is not my photo ... I do not take photos anymore. This photo belongs to 'bzcam' on Flickr.

This is Building 1 of the Cyber Innovation Center in Bossier City. Hard to see the true size here, but for being only a 5-story building, this thing is monstrous. Note the huge 'spikes' on the side of the building which are part of the blast shield protecting the structure from terrorism. The building is being designed with all the security features of a high priority terrorism target because it will serve a major role in United States cyber warfare. Many major technology and aerospace firms will have a presence in this building.

Thanks for the update  Been wondering what was up with the Cyber Innovaton Center?? The rendering has always looked spectacular to me!! Though some disagreed with me..I really dig the design of this building; esp those spikes! Something "out-the-box"! This development has brought some clout with it!!! For the SBC area; State; and Region!!! Nationally on the map!

Though being 5-stories; it looks easily the size of an 8 or 9-story building! Nothin' like that red-dirt/clay!! None of that here down in BR! Just brown mud...the low-dark clouds in that pic set it off!
