The name and the lore of the alley all goes back to the early days of New Orleans, when it had already become a major port and drew both pirates and slave trade.

My mom had some art at Pirate's Alley before. I think I have seen pics on this posted earlier before. It looked alot different with alot of people and maybe some art work.

Very good job in the New Orleans Photo thread. They make me want to go down there right now. Strangely, they also make me hungry.

Hopefully, the downtown Baton Rouge plan will workout and there will be people walkng around all the time like there is in New Orleans. But it seems to be working, so I guess we'll see how it plays out in the next few years.

Not somewhat cool, very cool. I had the same thought Dan did... it looks like it just mixes with the sky. The sign at the top is the only thing that tells you that you're looking at the top.
