Boston or San Fran?

These are my two favorite US cities. As a city Boston seems a little biger even though it has a smaller population. This is probably because Boston flows seemlessly into the surrounding cities and towns like Cambridge, Brookline and Quincy while SF is cut off by a wide bay from Oakland and Berkeley. Boston also has much larger areas with street walls, masonary buildings and true subway lines. These things make Boston more interesting to me as a city. SF has nice weather (can be foggy and cool in summer), and great surroundings with the wine country and high mountains skiing. Boston has the great beaches, lakes and close proximity to other interesting cities like NYC and Montreal. Both are great; I'd be happy to live in either.

I wouldn't say both are liberal. Socialist would be more accurate.

Well, San Francisco is certainly liberal. Probably the most liberal city in the country, with maybe Portland or Seattle in competition. They don't call this the "Left Coast" for nothing..... :lol:
