Miesian Corners 1681 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 For all the folks who look forward to the musings of several of our Wachovia employed posters, we'll have to wait until after five from now on to hear from them. It seems the IT department has placed this site on its "forbidden" site list. Urban Planet has joined the ranks of eBay.
monsoon 1 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 Heh and here I am making the mistake of thinking the bank is a supporter of the community. Maybe I should have kept quite about how many posts we get from the place. Or maybe it was those secret plans that got posted here. haha. I have noticed the absence of several that we know to be from there. Could this be why every employee that I have known from the bank refers to it as Walk All Over Ya. haha I have one word for all of our Wachovia shutins. Anonymous Proxy. (ok, 2 words)
MZT 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 Wachies can always stop by the public library if they just can't resist getting a word in. Or wi-fi from somewhere.
monsoon 1 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 In the past I have only heard that we were blocked by the commies running China and now Wachovia joins them. LOL.
GRDadof3 3929 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 In the past I have only heard that we were blocked by the commies running China and now Wachovia joins them. LOL. A friend of mine has her student loans through them. She calls them "Watch-Ova-Ya". Kind of fitting now
ngp 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 Did those "secret plans" ever come to fruition? Also, metro, do you have a user-friendly link to this "Anonymous Proxy" business?
monsoon 1 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 The matter of finding alternative paths around unnatural roadblocks on the Internet is by its nature not real user friendly.
RiverwoodCLT 660 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 You are not block yet on CMS web site. I do not know if that is good or bad.

MZT 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 Surely CMS has blocked the Rhino Times, though....
monsoon 1 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 Well I have heard from very reliable sources that Wachovia has indeed blocked UrbanPlanet. Wonder if they will list this on their annual report as something that improved their bottom line? Good find Neo. Wonder if they will block Google next? norm21499 717 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 Haha you all are great, trying to help people hack into this site.
dxartist 359 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 found out about 2 weeks ago myself that Wach has banned UP. It's ashame too. When I went to click on to the UP site from my Wach computer, I get the infamous black screen with "ACCESS DENIED" written in big red letters. It's kind of a running joke in my department. Some days, I simply hate working here
monsoon 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 Gee. And we don't even have porno here.
Miesian Corners 1681 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 Gee. And we don't even have porno here. No, but we do have Dee Dee's hole. Anybody up for taking a collection for A2? Seems the poor boy doesn't have internet access at his residence. Like a heroin addiction, he's currently going through the DTs due to no UP fix. Will methadone help this? monsoon 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 Surely Wachovia isn't so draconian in its pay to its drones that they can't afford to buy an internet connection. NetZero is only $9.95/month. haha
RiverwoodCLT 660 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 Tried Urbanpalnet today at CMS and it is forbidden. They must have read our post.
ilektronik 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 I'm work for Wachovia and it's true UP is blocked now. I think though it is because of the fact that most people use the forum; and the Wachovia internet policy bans forums and or bulletin boards/chat rooms. This is just speculation of course. I am a software engineer and frequent many code/programming forums that are also blocked from within Wachovia.
Lady Celeste 68 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 I hate to say this but I'm surprised that in the day of increased productivity and decreased headcount that Wachovia is just now limiting these type of sites. I'm not saying it's right though because when I was in corporate America I was a numbers person....as long as you got what I needed, I could care less how you managed your day....with some exceptions of course. Higherups however came down hard on me because of my stance. My people were happy and produced above and beyond what was requested however I was asked to write up, suspend or fire people for the slightest infractions. If I didn't get enough people wrote up then they would come down on me....mind you the numbers for my department were exceeding expectations. I had to walk away because it was not a conducive environment for my personality. I like happy people not miserable drones. I miss ole A2 though.....
dubone 1573 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 Tried Urbanpalnet today at CMS and it is forbidden. They must have read our post. I think UP was simply included in some standard list of a certain type of website, so the companies that subscribe to that list are now blocking it. I think it is kind of like an anti-virus update, but for firewall blockers. There certain wouldn't have been anything specific at UP that someone added it specifically. monsoon 1 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 I have not heard of such a list.
ilektronik 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 I have not heard of such a list. oh they are out there, just depends what list you subscribe to. many big corporations use Websense (i've lost a job due to Websense for Internet surfing, Wegmans Corporate, in Rochester, NY) as a matter of fact, you can even submit your own http://www.websense.com/global/en/Products...e/URLChange.php
Neo 199 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 I have not heard of such a list. There are lists out there. I actually used a list where I work at one time (I'm an IT Manager) but now I use group policy to give all or not Internet access to users depending on their login. SonicWall also has their own content filter service in addition to WebSense.
monsoon 1 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 Maybe the concerned Wachovia peeps should get the management to remove UP from the list if this is nothing more than an accident.
