I don't understand this at all. Some of these Verdae transactions really make me wonder what sense of vision they still have for this land. The connectivity aspect alone irritates me. The clubhouse and pool component makes this seem so separate and unto itself. Based on the existing terrain and site layout, they must be planning to come in and flatten the site, which is also unfortunate.

After the YMCA pulled out of the agreement to develop that property Verdae was definitely lost on what to do next.  At least there will be a pool component for Hollingsworth Park that comes out of this project since the pool and clubhouse will be separate from the subdivision.

Major site grading now underway behind the large Verdae sign at the intersection of Laurens Road and Verdae Blvd for Southern First new HQ.

Construction also now underway for Hamilton along the Parallel Parkway.

Hadn't heard about this. I wish they would have located downtown, or taken space in an existing building.

After the let down news with ICAR, I have to say this is going to be a very impressive building:

I wish they were locating downtown. Since they're not, I wish they had chosen a site down on the trail or positioned the building for maximum exposure on I-85.

Side note: ICAR's new building is strategically tucked back in Tech Neighborhood III. It is there to function as R&D for start ups. I'm not bothered by the appearance of the building if it can generate strong, growing businesses based in Greenville.

Hales Jewelers "will move from its current location on Haywood Road, where it’s been since 1982, to Verdae, a planned community in Greenville."

The article doesn't mention the exact location. Is this next to the new Sumerel building?
