I'll be located at the old Hyundai in Springdale but they said that was temp. I would not be shocked if it ended up near the new hyundai in Fayetteville, VW better appeals to the crowd on the southern end of the corridor anyways.

It will be interesting who lands the eventual Lexus dealership.

I don't know where to put this here, but...looks like Dave & Buster's, discussed before on this forum, may be in (southwest!, by the new Bass Pro Shops and Gateway Towne Plaza) Little Rock as early as 6 months from now.  Since Rogers would have been or would be a great location for one, I'll post the story here:

Note that the law passed to allow D and B to operate doesn't allow them to open a store in northwest Arkansas

Yeah, what a load of crap.  Not only did they set up the population limits just for Little Rock.  They even had to throw in the 'navigable river' just to ensure NWA can't get one just in case the population boom gives one of the NWA counties that population number sooner than expected.

While I don't really care much about Dave & Busters, actions like this one betray a spitefulness and jealousy in the Capitol City towards NWA.  It is stupid and unproductive for Arkansas.  The irony is that in NWA you won't hear folks compare anything to Little Rock, and the spitefulness doesn't go both ways.  We don't really think or care about Little Rock, except when they pass stupid laws like this one.

Sure the bill singles out Little Rock but no legislators from NWA voted against the bill. If you got any complaints against the bill then look in your own backyard.

Hopefully the same will be true of little rock legislators when the bill is up for revision when D and B wants to open in NWA. It is only a matter of time.

I think the idea behind this bill is it sets up the possibility for a casino in Pulaski county. Of course it doesn't legalize casino gambling, but the part of the bill that mentions "navigable river" screams riverboat casino to me. With this bill in place all they would have to do is legalize casino gambling.

Forgive me being naive, but why does a law need to be passed to allow D&B to operate?  Are there actual casino-like elements to it?  I always thought of it as a grown-up Chuck E Cheese.  If so, does the state legislature get the final yes/no?  I seem to remember a state-wide vote that failed several years ago on whether to allow select casinos to begin in the state.  Can't remember if it was 2012 or 2008.
