Agreed. If you have to sacrifice street-level-interaction for height, it's not a good tradeoff in that area. There are already semi-tall buildings over there with UPS and SunTrust, but they're really cut off from the neighborhood. That part of town needs a jump start to get some momentum going. Maybe we can do a tower a little off the river when things pick up down there.

Did Crosland ever receive the bonds for the parking deck from the city to move this project forward? If they did construction according to this report should be starting anytime now.

Well I found out why Manchester on the James and Stonebridge(formerly Cloverleaf Mall) is taking so long! Crosland the developer is going through some tough times!huh.gif Honestly I would rather somebody else takeover the projects they proposed and build better developments for the prime locations they were given by the City of Richmond (Manchester on the James) and Chesterfield County(Stonebridge)! Both municipalities need to pack ther bags and look somewhere else preferably a local firm with a focus on urban planning! I prefer the Stonebridge location become a urban town center! Maybe Im just dreaming!sleep.gif

Here is a story from the News Observer that talks about Croslands troubles

Also the City of Richmond used federal stimulus money to fund a parking deck for Manchester on the James earlier this year! That $12 million could have gone to a project that is actually getting close to production!

Stonebridge rendering!sick.pngexcl.gif Prime real estate! What a waste!cry.gif
