The Better'n'sex post spurred me to search for a Greenville restaurant whose name I had forgotten, and up popped this Journal article from 3 years ago. Talk about nostalgia!

I can't believe they'd mention the Red Baron without actually including it in the list.

Off the top of my head, I would also include the Plaza Pharmacy, which had a great diner; and the Red Barn, whose bldg still exists on E. North, a little east of Pleasantburg/291, just before it turns all residential. Red Barn was a sub-sandwich place (similar to Sub Station II, but much better) that also made a really good pizza.

Was this where Steak-Out was, and now the Brooklyn Pizza is? If so, I don't remember that, but it is where I grew up. Off-topic, I do remember there used to be a WalMart where the BiLo is/used to be at North Hills.

Yes---pretty sure it's now Brooklyn Pizza. Red Barn was there from the mid-to-late 70's until, I would say, at least the mid-80's. Maybe longer, but I moved away and by the time I moved back, it was gone. It was very popular throughout my HS days.

Birrieria 101 opens today on Wade Hampton Blvd, in the strip center across from the Wade Hampton Fire Dept. They are moving from a walk up only location in Berea. Awesome food. Follow them on Facebook
