What is happening in Waynesville these days?

There was an article in the Smoky Mountain News today. Apparently the town is considering loosening the restrictions on signage downtown to allow internally lit signs everywhere except in the historic district. The change is proposed by the head of the Planning Board, who is a downtown landlord in Waynesville.

Thats a shame. Waynesville is such a neat little town.

I know they just finished a their new county courthouse not long ago (ok, maybe a year or two ago). Other than that, I don't think very much is going on there.
