The Circle G resort is dead but its now being considered for a town square. It will be a walkable community with homes, retail, sit down resturants, government buildings, and hotels at Goodman Road and Miss. 301.

An early development plan should be done by March (hopefully ) and along with riverbend, it could be a catalyst for growth that reaches the southwest part of Shelby County.

Maybe with the RiverBend development as well, which I believe is just down Hwy. 61, SW Shelby could see some development, though I doubt it. That part of town is pretty much down at the heels.

Here's an editorial from the Commercial Appeal about the project....maybe this will be in the New Urban mold after all.
