South Winston-Salem

What's the south part of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County like? I'm talking about the area around Hwy 52 and Barnes road. Is it a developing area? Or is it the hood? Just curious on behalf of a relative who might be relocating.

Around Barnes, it isn't that bad it's just full of trailer parks and old ranch homes. When you get closer to Peters Creek Pkwy that is where the development starts happening. Townhomes, pad homes, new shopping center, and a proposed Wal-Mart have or are being built in that area. As you keep going up main St it gets more hood like.
