I'm excited to see this particular building receive a new life.  With the wide variety of drink offerings, I hope they prove successful and sustain business at this location.  Let's keep the development growing to fill the gap between the West End and the Village of West Greenville.

Is that the old medical office building on the corner? I'm surprised it has survived in that location, which seems plum.

If Google Earth guided me correctly (or if I followed correctly), I'm pretty sure I drove a family member to a medical appointment in that building back in the 70's, when that area was still hopping with lots of doctors' offices.

Edit: Definitely the same building; the pic in the article shows the "basement windows" in the background.

The north parking lot is owned by W-A except the triangular part that has a house (next to Academy St bridge).

The rest of it is owned by Bob Hughes or his brother Phil or both.

The Hughes portion was intended to be Phase 3 of Riverplace.  Until the last building in Phase 2 is done, I would rather doubt he would proceed.

Thank you for replying; that being said, I’ve always thought phase II concludes with the opening of Embassy Suites. Considering that isn’t the case, where does the last building for phase II go?

There’s a pad built to hold a building along Hammond Street. I believe it was intended for an office building at the time. You can see it on Google Maps.

Phil owns the rest of that site next to Windsor Aughtry’s. Bob owns the office building pad behind Embassy Suites.

What’s being planned between Field Street, Markley Street, Vardry Street, and the Berkshire Hathaway building where the small parking lot is? New survey stakes up all over the place here. I believe the Drive own it or at least did.

Soil boring tests done here very recently: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/59078be55016e17b11b4039a/t/59b2d88af9a61eed0e8e95ad/1504893069804/Flyer.+NEW.+Vardry+%26+Field+St.pdf

The stakes are around the entire Berkshire parcel not just the small parking lot.

DRB signs are now up here. Something is definitely planned. Anybody know what?
