Charlotte will be holding 4 work shops in the last half of January for the purpose of coming up with ideas on how to make cul de sacs more accessable to pedestrians and to reduce the need for cars. Ideas such as adding foot bridges and paths to next door neighborhoods and businesses are one idea. One hour before each meeting, Mark Fenton from the PBS show "America's Walking" will lead a walking tour of the area. The times for the workshops are as follows:

  • Jan 24th, 6:30pm - University City Regional Library

  • Jan, 25th, 6:30pm - Plaza-Midwood Library

  • Jan 26th, 6:30pm - Mecklenburg County Park and Rec. Office on Brookshire Blvd

  • Jan 28th, 11 am - Morrison Regional Library
