Besides several new residential communities going up, Montreat College is looking at land to build a new downtown campus. Maybe in fifty years when the spindly little saplings the developer plants mature, but certainly not until then. Until then, it's a great view of chockablock McMansions. I am sure Black Mountain wants to grow while maintaining its great views. A logical idea I would like to see is some sort of verticle expansion with some midrises in the central business district.
