Newnan 1 Report post Posted January 16, 2006 Does anyone have any info about how far the metro area extended officially or mentally 20, 30, 40 or 50 years ago. How far do you think the metro area will spread out in the future. Post what you think. BTW- how do you like my new Avatar and little thing at the bottom (don't know what it's called!) teshadoh 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2006 Just a guess / from assorted info bits I've come across: Fulton & Dekalb were the traditional core, but post WWII would have added Cobb & Clayton. The next batch would be Rockdale,Douglas & Gwinnett in the 1960's.
Hotlanta 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2006 In the future I beleive we will be seeing starter home communities popping up all the way to Commerce and then on to Lavonia. By 2025, we will eventually see Macon and Atlanta "combine." I-85 going northbound will be 10 lanes total all the way up to Commerce and I-75 will be like one huge parking lot. This is if something isn't done and rail isn't approved. From the looks in the Regional Transportaion Forum the rail future doesn't look too bright.
