This is a little bit different happening, but something worth mentioning. The Upstate Hash House Harriers will be holding a Cinco de Mayo run on well, um, May 5. Starts at 6 p.m. behind Don Pablo's.

Tonight is the night! Hope at least a few UP members can make it out to see an Alfred Hitchcock mystery movie at the Peace Center Amphitheater along the Reedy River in downtown Greenville at 8:00pm. :shades:

An article about the Scottish Games on June 9 & 10. Didn't realize the parade would be downtown.

Yea - saw a poster for this in Salsarita's on Augusta last night and noticed the same thing. So it is a two-day event after all, if you count the downtown parade.

Anybody else go the Greek Festival this weekend? It was a large crowd, considering the weather. Loved the "Greekville" sign! :D GV News has photos from the festival online.

I've mentioned this group before, for their film/book discussions at Coffee Underground, but the Caleb Group will be having a showing and discussion of the da Vinci Code at the Camelot theatre.

The Caleb Group, which formed in 1996, often hosts community forums to discuss moral, ethical and theological issues.

Another interesting "happening" is a new film to be shot around downtown Greenville sometime in June by independent film company, Paranoid Pictures, LLC. It will be a murder mystery and will attempt to showcase downtown to a wide audience. :shades:

Doesn't sound too much like an A movie to me; a company named "Paranoid Pictures" making a horror flick sounds a little too jokeish!

I wonder if people will know it's Greenville, or if it will just be a Generic town; could be good exposure.
